Donald Trump is facing a possible mutiny from his own political party after furious Republicans stormed out of a classified briefing on Iran amid fears the US is preparing to invade the country. Republican Nancy Mace reportedly walked out early, stating 'we were misled,' while pro-Trump committee chair Mike Rogers warned 'we're not getting answers' as Pentagon chiefs briefed the House Armed Services Committee.

A Daily Mail source inside the room revealed new details, including a new set of objectives which may suggest that America is moving toward boots on the ground. Currently 7,000 US ground forces have been deployed or en route to the Middle East, which includes the Army's 82nd Airborne Division and the Marines, as Iran dictates passage through the Strait of Hormuz. Members were presented with three military objectives, Kharg Island, Iran's crucial oil export hub; its nuclear material; and regime change, according to the lawmaker who spoke on condition of anonymity. They also said that White House must answer for its plans, particularly regarding Kharg Island and troops on the ground, with answers reported to be 'jaw-dropping' and 'will blow your brains out.'

Just walked out of a House Armed Services briefing on Iran. Let me repeat: I will not support troops on the ground in Iran, even more so after this briefing.

House Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers was alleged to be 'uncharacteristically agitated' after leaving the briefing, adn stated that he had few details about the direction the war is heading.

Rogers, an Alabama Republican, added: "We want to know more about what’s going on, we’re just not getting enough answers."

Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Roger Wicker of Mississippi was also alleged to have felt the same after his own briefing.

Wicker told Politico of Rogers' comments, adding "I can see why he might have said that."

Nancy Mace reflected the confused messaging on X, writing: "The justifications presented to the American public for the war in Iran were not the same military objectives we were briefed on today in the House Armed Services Committee."

It was also reported that members are expecting the White House to put forward a request for additional Pentagon funding.

The proposed package is estimated to cost around $200 billion, equivalent to roughly one-fifth of the department’s annual budget.

The three military objectives alleged to have been presented to members would be a far cry from the four goals the White House publicly stated which were destroying Iran's missiles, navy, armed proxies, and nuclear capabilities.

Iran has already begun reinforcing Kharg Island with mines and traps ahead of a potential US ground invasion.

The strategically vital Persian Gulf hub - which handles about 90% of the country’s oil exports - seen as a key prize that could shift the course of the conflict.

US officials have cautioned the administration that a ground operation to capture the island would involve major risks, including the possibility of substantial American casualties.

However, one of the reported new objectives - regime change - does now reflect an aim that Israeli officials have publicly referenced.

US President Donald Trump has not raised regime change in his public statements since the early stages of the conflict, and it is hasn't previously featured in the White House's stated objectives.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu three main objectives are to reduce Iran's ballistic missile capabilities, preventing Tehran from acquiring a nuclear warhead, and encourage internal conditions that could lead to the Islamic regime being challenged by civilians.

On Wednesday, Iran rejected a 15-point peace proposal put forward by the United States.

The walkout appears to have highlighted divisions within the Republican Party over the conflict, with some lawmakers expressing growing concern about the duration, scale and overall aims of the military campaign.
