Massive infrastructure projects can sometimes be a thing of beauty. From imposing bridges to the world’s tallest towers, these buildings turn heads. And there is one skyscraper that’s recently been completed that is being described as a “true masterpiece” of architecture, and it’s easy to see why.
The building in question is The Henderson. It is located in the heart of Hong Kong, a huge mega-city with more than 7 million people. The skyscraper, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, stands 190 metres tall and has over 30 floors. Completed in Hong Kong’s busy Central district, the skyscraper has been hailed by its developers as the city’s “boldest new architectural masterpiece”.

Estimated to have cost around £10 billion to build, the sleek structure was inspired by the Bauhinia flower, the emblem of Hong Kong.
The unique form is supported by six mega-columns and an advanced steel structure, making it one of the most innovative office towers in Asia.
Patrik Schumacher, the Principal at Zaha Hadid Architects, said: “We had to create something extraordinary and unique, something 21st century and forward-looking.”
One of the tower’s most distinctive features is Cloud 39. It’s an ultra-luxury rooftop ballroom set on the top floor.

With a soaring eight-metre glass ceiling and panoramic views of the skyline, it’s designed to host high-end events and weddings, complete with its own bridal suite, VIP lounge, and bespoke interior design by Studio Paolo Ferrari.
Below the ballroom, visitors can explore a range of dining options. A fine-dining restaurant on the 38th floor, a contemporary eatery on the 5th, and a % Arabica café in the lobby have all been designed to match the building’s fluid, futuristic look.
At street level, The Henderson is surrounded by landscaped gardens and open spaces. There is also a sky garden on the 22nd floor for tenants to unwind.
Twin lobbies filled with artwork, including Jeff Koons’ famous Balloon Swan, provide an elegant welcome for guests arriving by foot or car.

The building also has a state-of-the-art IT and security infrastructure developed in partnership with Microsoft, Arup, and UCS.
It includes features such as real-time weather monitoring, energy-efficient systems, and future-proof connectivity.
The Henderson sits at the centre of Hong Kong’s financial hub, directly connected to major transport links including Central, Admiralty, and the Airport Express.
According to the developers, The Henderson “will deservedly take its place among the world’s most iconic buildings”.
