Donald Trump's first day in Saudi Arabia has already been hailed a success, as the US President signed a major deal with the country's leadership. After arriving in the country on Tuesday morning, Mr Trump visited the Saudi Royal Court in Riyadh, where he took part in a signing ceremony of the deal with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The deal included a £453 billion ($600bn) "commitment to invest in the US" made by Saudi Arabia as well as a major arms agreement.

However, the attention of some social media users appeared to have been caught by Mr Trump's presence during the meeting, with some speculating the US President looked "tired" and even "fell asleep" at one time in the room where the meeting was sealed. Seated next to Mohammed bin Salman, Trump signed the document while an official read out the terms of the deal though the president appeared to struggle to keep his eyes open during the proceedings, briefly closing his eyes.

One person wrote on X (formerly Twitter):"Sleepy Don'. Sorts of suits him."

Someone else wrote: "Keep your eyes on Trump and take note how sleep deprived he is. If grifters around this man had any decency they would encourage him to get more sleep."

Another said: "Trump is so sleepy today."

The US president is on the first leg of a high-profile, four-day diplomatic tour across Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.

Earlier today in Riyadh, he attended a lavish luncheon alongside Elon Musk and several top business leaders.

?????? BREAKING: In a surreal and frankly humiliating moment, Donald Trump just fell asleep during his own briefing in Saudi Arabia.
