Five people, including a one-year-old child, have been killed in a Russian drone strike on the Ukrainian city of Pryluky, officials said. The State Emergency Service of Ukraine confirmed the deaths following a night-time UAV attack in the Chernihiv region.

Six more people were injured, and fires ripped through the residential area, destroying homes, garages and a car. Officials said two houses were completely destroyed, along with two garages and an outbuilding. Photos showing the aftermath — including fierce flames erupting from a building — are now circulating on social media.

Kim vows ‘unconditional support’ for Russia as troops help defend Kursk

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has pledged “unconditional support” for Russia’s war against Ukraine, according to Pyongyang’s state media.

In talks with Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu, Mr Kim backed Moscow’s position on Ukraine and wider foreign policy issues.

The meeting came just weeks after North Korea’s troop deployment to Russia was officially confirmed for the first time.

Thousands of North Korean soldiers are believed to be fighting alongside Russian forces in the contested Kursk border region.

US Embassy in Kyiv warns of 'significant' Russian air attack risk

The US Embassy in Kyiv has warned American citizens of a rising threat from intensified Russian missile and drone attacks.

A statement urged people to exercise “appropriate caution” and be ready to shelter immediately if air raid sirens sound.

Officials recommend downloading an alert app and identifying safe shelter locations in advance.

Citizens are also advised to stock up on essential supplies including food, water and medication. The Embassy stressed the importance of following instructions from Ukrainian authorities during any emergency.

Attacks come hours after Trump's call with Putin

The attack came just hours after Donald Trump spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The US president said in a social media post that “It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace.”

The call that lasted for an hour and 15 minutes was Mr Trump’s first known with Putin since May 19.

Mr Trump said he and Putin also discussed Iran's nuclear program.
