A tram has derailed in Milan, with at least one person dead and 29 injured, with several people also reported to be trapped under the vehicle.
The tram on line 9 (bound for Porta Genova) derailed in via Vittorio Veneto in Milan (Porta Venezia area) shortly before 4.15pm local time. The tram derailed and crashed into the window of a shop, killing one person. Emergency services rushed to the scene in a desperate attempt to rescue passengers. One person was also reported to be stuck under the wheels of the tram.
