Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said Tuesday that the country’s military “will control” southern Lebanon all the way to the Litani river. Katz said that Israeli forces had blown up “all five bridges over the Litani that were used by Hezbollah for the passage of terrorists and weapons”, a day after hardline Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich said Israel should extend its border with Lebanon as far as the Litani.
