Former First Lady Jill Biden has issued a major update on ex-President Joe Biden's health as he continues to be treated for cancer.

Speaking on The View, a chat show in the US, Ms Biden said it has been "hard" but maintained that her husband "remains active."

She said: "He's doing ok because, as I am sure everyone in this audience knows, I'm sure you've all been touched by cancer, it's hard.

"It's stage four, it's in his bones, but he's keeping up his schedule, he's going to DC on Amtrak a couple of times a month, he's speaking at Democratic rallies...he's active, he's Joe."

On Monday, Ms Biden said the former president will have cancer for the rest of his life.

Mr Biden was diagnosed with the "aggressive form" of prostate cancer in May 2025 after it had spread to the bone.

He underwent radiation therapy in October 2025 and was also being treated using hormone therapy.

In September last year, Biden's spokesperson also confirmed the former President had treatment for skin cancer.

Biden's health came under intense scrutiny during his time in office and in the lead-up to his election defeat at the hands of Donald Trump in 2024.

Doctors checked Mr Biden after a now-infamous debate performance where Mr Biden struggled to articulate himself, sparking fears from his wife that he'd "had a stroke."
