The horror crash is thought to have occurred after one of the trams accidentally switched tracks before hitting a second tram that was stopped at the station.
One of the trams is reported to have derailed after the accident.
An investigation into the accident is said to be underway, according to local news outlets.
Cops confirmed that tram traffic through the main station has been interrupted "following a tram accident", French outlet Actu17 reports.
