Iran's president has said his country will never aurrender to the US and Israel, but has promised to stop attacking the UAE and Dubai - on one crucial condition.
In a video address broadcast on Iranian state media on Saturday, Masoud Pezeshkian said: “The enemies must take their wish for the surrender of the Iranian people to their graves. I apologise… to the neighbouring countries that were attacked by Iran”, he added. “The interim leadership council agreed yesterday that no more attacks will be made on neighbouring countries and no missiles will be fired unless an attack on Iran originates from those countries." He added: "Those considering exploiting this moment to attack Iran must not become puppets of imperialism," insisting that supporting Israel or the US is "not a path to honour and freedom."
In its first announcement today on its English Telegram channel about strikes on Iran The Israel Defense Forces says it has started a "broad wave" of strikes targeting Iranian infrastructure in Tehran and Isfahan.
The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it has targeted an oil tanker in the Gulf while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
In a statement shared on Telegram, the IRGC said an oil tanker named "Prima" was hit by a drone after "ignoring repeated warnings" from the IRGC Navy regarding the "prohibition of traffic" through the strait.
The IRGC also stated that it will not allow oil tankers and commercial vessels "allied with hostile countries" to pass through the Strait.
Iran has insisted it will not give up in its war with the US despite Donald Trump's insistence that an unconditional surrender is the only way American and Israeli strikes will end.
Mr Pezeshkian's comments came after Mr Trump said on Friday (March 6) that he would not seek a deal with Iran to end the weeklong war without the country's "unconditional surrender".
Washington also warned of a forthcoming bombing campaign which officials said would be the most intense of a conflict which has rocked the Middle East.
