A man being lauded as 'China's Nostradamus' has made a startling forecast about the ongoing US-Iran conflict in the Middle East - and it's not the outcome most people would anticipate.
A Chinese-Canadian educator and the presenter of a popular YouTube channel, Professor Xueqin Jiang is becoming an internet sensation for the three predictions he made back in 2024 - two of which have already materialised with remarkable precision.
In May 2024, Jiang made three forecasts during his lectures at the high school in China where he teaches, the videos of which were uploaded to his acclaimed YouTube channel, Predictive History, which currently boasts 1.87 million subscribers.
A Yale College graduate, Jiang stated he believed Donald Trump would win the 2024 election and return to power, successfully securing a second term in the White House. Prediction number one - spot on.
He followed his prediction with another unnerving prophecy: "If he [Trump] does become president in a second term, there will be a very strong likelihood that the United States will go to war with Iran." Prediction number two - also right on the money.
Jiang explained that one of the major reasons behind why the United States would enter into war with Iran would be due to Israel's interests, something that we are witnessing unfold in real-time as the joint US-Israel Operation Epic Fury continues.

The third unnerving prediction from 2024
So, what was Jiang's third and final forecast in 2024 concerning the US-Iran conflict? A defeat for the United States.
Delving into hypothetical war situations and fictional scenarios, Jiang elucidated why a US attack on Iran would be disastrous for the Superpower, stating: "The third big prediction is that the United States will lose this war, which will forever change the global order."
Maintaining the conviction behind his three predictions across numerous videos uploaded to his channel, the professor contended that Iran's population and geography would render any extended occupation of its territory by the United States unfeasible, as the Middle Eastern country's lengthy supply lines, potent domestic resistance, and mountainous terrain would rapidly transform any initial military success into catastrophic strategic failure, reports the Mirror US.
Jiang predicted in one video on his channel: "If this war [US-Iran] were to happen, there's absolutely no way America can win this war."
The professor of history and philosophy drew comparisons between a potential invasion of Iran by the United States and the Sicilian Expedition which took place between 415 and 413 BC that saw Athens initiate a massive military campaign against Sparta, Syracuse and Corinth in an attempt to seize and dominate the region of Sicily - a war which ultimately culminated in disaster for the Athenians.

The science behind the predictions
Teaching History and Philosophy from 2022 at Moonshot Academy Beijing, the professor formulates his predictions by scrutinising recurring geopolitical incentives, historical patterns, and Game Theory.
His YouTube channel's description elucidates the foundation of his theories: "In his Foundation series, Isaac Asimov proposed that the science of 'psycho-history' will help humanity understand its past, predict its future, and control its present. This channel is dedicated to exploring if 'psycho-history' is indeed possible."
Clarifying why Iran also desires to engage in war with the US, Professor Jiang explained in one of his 2024 lectures that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (also known as the Iranian Revolutionary Guards or IRGC) "want war with the United States because they're very angry about US interference in Iran."
Jiang stated: "We can suspect that a second Trump term war with Iran will be a major priority. Basically the United States is looking for a reason and Iran wants to give them a reason and that's why I think war between the United States and Iran is very likely in the next two to four years."
Backing up his claims in 2026
Professor Jiang recently featured on the US news series Breaking Points with Krystal and Saagar and discussed his beliefs on how it would all unfold.
In a video uploaded on March 2 to YouTube, the academic stated: "Given my analysis of how the war is progressing, I think that Iran has many more advantages over the United States. The reality is, right now, it's a war of attrition between the United States and Iran, and Iranians have been preparing 20 years for this conflict."
He added: "They've had many practice runs. Last June was a 12-day war when the Iranians were able to examine and analyse the strike capacities of both the Israelis and the Americans. And they have had a lot of time, eight months, to prepare fully for this new attack."
The former journalist asserted that Iran's proxies - Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis - "have been able to really grasp the American mentality - and now they have a pretty good strategy of how to weaken and ultimately destroy the American empire".

The professor added: "What the Iranians are doing is waging war against the entire global economy."
Jiang proceeded to outline how Iran is "striking the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries and going after their critical energy infrastructures" as he detailed how a drone strike by Iran on a GCC nation's desalination facility could leave millions without water within weeks.
Alarmingly, reports of a drone strike on a desalination facility in Bahrain have recently been circulating in recent days.
The professor also outlined how Iran has effectively blocked the Strait of Hormuz which "supplies 90% of food for the GCC countries".
On the matter of whether ground forces will be deployed by the US into Iran, the professor predicted: "We've never had a president in history where you were able to regime change from the air alone.

"You need ground troops. And so unfortunately, what's going to happen over the next few months is that pressure will build on America to send ground troops especially, from the GCC countries and from Israel, which are being pounded right now by the Iranians."
It remains to be seen whether 'China's Nostradamus' predictions will prove accurate as the Middle East conflict continues to rage. In the meantime, Professor Jiang's disturbing forecasts have, without question, established him as one of the most precise and widely-discussed geopolitical analysts in today's climate.
