A woman turned herself in after being investigated over videos allegedly showing sexually abusing a dog. Kristiina Kennedy, 45, was charged with sexual assault of an animal (creating/distributing pornography), and sexual assault of an animal, according to Meriden Police Department, in Connecticut, USA.
The Special Crimes Unit, along with Meriden Animal Control, began investigating the sexual abuse of a dog on April 6 and issued a warrant for Kennedy's arrest before she turned herself in on April 29.

Local media reports the investigation began after a woman reported that her friend received multiple text messages from Kennedy showing disturbing videos of animals.

According to WTNH, Kennedy had allegedly sent three videos of herself sexually harassing what appeared to be a Pit bull cross-type dog. The videos were subsequently forwarded to a police officer who began an investigation.
In a statement Meriden Police Department said: "Kennedy surrendered the dog to the City of Meriden Animal Control when a search warrant was served at her residence on April 7, 2026.
"The dog was brought to a veterinarian to be examined and found not to have any injuries. During the investigation, concern for the safety of two cats at the residence was also developed.
"Meriden Detectives and Meriden Animal Control went back to the residence and seized the two cats from the residence as well. The City of Meriden is petitioning to retain custody of the two cats with a hearing scheduled for May 1, 2026, at the Meriden Superior Court."

The statement added: "The Meriden Police Department takes allegations of sexual assault involving animals extremely seriously.
"We understand that these cases are deeply troubling to the community, and we share that concern. We are committed to conducting a thorough investigation and pursuing appropriate charges to ensure accountability and protect animal welfare."
The police department said Kennedy was processed and issued a court date of May 13, 2026, at the Meriden Superior Court and was released after posting a $10,000 surety bond.
