On the eve of the Pope's funeral, the question of who will replace the Pope is already on everyone's lips. Can it be an African? Of the 135 cardinal electors, 18 are from Africa. That's a growing significance as the continent accounts for around 20% of the world's Catholic population. Some names have been mentioned, such as Peter Turkson from Ghana, a progressive voice, or the conservatives Robert Sarah from Guinea and Fridolin Ambongo Besungu from DR Congo.
It is one of the world's oldest and deadliest diseases. Much progress has been made in prevention and treatment, but malaria still kills hundreds of thousands of people every year, especially in Africa. To discuss about it, we are joined by Dr. Michael Adekunle Charles, CEO of the RBM Partnership to End Malaria.
Senegal is making waves in the surfing world. Known for its powerful Atlantic swells, the country has long been a hidden gem for surfers. But despite the ideal conditions, many aspiring local surfers have been kept on the sidelines - held back by limited access to equipment and training. Now the tide may be turning.
