He was arrested in Pennsylvania and no charge was pressed against him as interrogation was going on. Mangione was detailed at a McDonald's in Altoona as a staff recognized him from the photos the NYPD circulated sourcing from surveillance footage. The brazen murder of the health insurance company CEO sparked a massive debate over healthcare companies and also about the killer -- as the killer appeared to be acting alone out of a personal grudge.

  5. Luigi Mangione lost his grandmother in 2013 and grandfather in 2017. Nothing else about his family is known yet. Investigators assume he acted alone but it's not clear what personal grudge he had against UnitedHealthcare.

  9. Mangione's Facebook does not have many recent posts. He is called the co-founder of AppRoar Studios which describes itself as an app development startup founded to provide the simplest and most engaging gaming experience.
  10. The Altoona Police Department recovered a handwritten, three-page document from Mangione that "speaks to both his motivations and mindset".

How Luigi Mangione was caught

Mangione was eating at McDonald's in Altoona when the authorities arrived receiving a tip-off from the eatery staff who recognized Mangione as the killer from the photos NYPD circulated. The NYPD confirmed that the killer fled NYC and they started searching in Atlanta when the killer was caught in Atloona.
