White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed on Thursday that she has welcomed her second child. "On May 1st, Viviana aka 'Vivi' joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love", she announced in an Instagram post alongside a photograph of her cradling her newborn.
Leavitt confirmed her daughter, her second child, is "perfect and healthy" while her elder brother is "adjusting to life with his new baby sister. "We are enjoying every moment in our blissful newborn bubble," she wrote. The 28-year-old gave birth to her first child, Nicholas or "Niko," while working on the 2024 presidential campaign.

Her most recent White House press briefing took place last week on April 27, just two days following the alleged attempted assassination of President Donald Trump and other officials at the White House Correspondents' Dinner.
Last Monday, she indicated she felt it was "prudent" to address journalists at the White House that day following the dinner incident.
"I hope and pray that this is the last time I speak to you for some time until after my maternity leave", she said as the briefing concluded.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio stepped in to conduct the White House briefing in her place on Tuesday. The duration of her maternity leave remains unconfirmed.
Leavitt holds the distinction of being the youngest White House press secretary in history and ranks amongst just eight women in American history to occupy the role.
Oz Pearlman, the mentalist scheduled to perform at the correspondents' dinner, claimed he correctly predicted Leavitt's daughter's name moments before the shooting occurred outside the ballroom.
"I believe the name was Vivian," he told ABC News' Jonathan Karl after the dinner about his prediction.
Vice President JD Vance and second lady Usha Vance are also expecting a baby in July, their fourth child.
