Sounding the alarm on the forced displacement of Palestinians and Israeli settler violence, Palestinian filmmaker Basel Adra told FRANCE 24 that the "international community needs to act".

"Not with words, not with condemnations, but with serious actions to make Israel respect international law and hold it accountable for its crimes."

"We fear for our existence," Adra said.

Adra was at the United Nations in New York on Thursday, invited to speak by the UN Committee on the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People.

Adra is the co-director of the Oscar-winning documentary “No Other Land”, a film about demolitions and violence in the West Bank.

It tells the story of Adra’s home, Masafer Yatta, a Palestinian community of around 20 villages. Adra began filming to document demolitions and illegal Israeli settler violence.

The film also follows the friendship between Basel Adra and Israeli journalist Yuval Abraham - who is the co-director of the documentary.

Basel Adra joins us on FRANCE 24.
