Watch: Utah man rams car into dealership over 'as-is' policy dispute; arrested

A man in Sandy, Utah, was arrested after allegedly driving a car into the front of a dealership following a disagreement about a vehicle he had recently purchased.
According to the

Sandy Police Department

, the man bought a

Subaru Outback

from

Tim Dahle Mazda

on Monday morning.
Later that day, he reportedly discovered mechanical issues and attempted to return the car. However, the dealership declined to accept it, citing their "as-is" sales policy.
Police stated the man threatened over the phone to drive the car through the dealership's front door if his money wasn’t refunded. Around 4 pm (local time), he followed through on his threat, crashing the vehicle into the showroom.

No injuries were reported, but the incident caused significant property damage.
The man, whose identity has not been released, was arrested and is now facing charges of felony criminal mischief and

reckless endangerment

, according to Fox 13 News.
Aylin Hernandez, a dealership employee, expressed relief at not being present during the crash. "What would've happened? Who knows, it could've been fatal," she said.
Sergeant Greg Moffitt of the Sandy City Police Department confirmed the incident, explaining that Utah law does not provide an automatic return policy for vehicle purchases.
According to the Utah Division of Consumer Protection, car sales are final unless a dealership offers a return policy, which Tim Dahle Mazda did not.
