The clip, shot at night, shows a Ukrainian soldier firing an IGLA man-portable surface-to-air defence missile system using a thermal sight.

Within seconds, the rocket blasted the Russian shahed drone, lighting up the night sky.

The deadly blow was launched by Ukraine's Air Command South on September 16.

Meanwhile, incredible footage showed Ukrainian drones wiping out a massive column of Russian armoured vehicles.

more on Russia-Ukraine war

Filmed near Pokrovsky, in the east of Ukraine, the footage shows a large-scale assault on Vladimir Putin's invading troops as the bloody war rages on.

Ukrainian troops were also seen storming Russian trenches while dodging heavy machine gun fire from the enemy lines.

Daring soldiers from Ukraine's Third Assault Brigade sparked a brutal counteroffensive after they were deployed in a forest near Kharkiv.

The clip, shared by Ukrainian military bloggers, shows the troops launching the raid at dawn after they were dropped from a military chopper.

Crack soldiers can be seen engaging in heated gunfights as they storm enemy positions camouflaged in the dense forest.

They raid enemy dugouts, storm through the Russian trenches and rescue wounded troops as they move towards the frontlines.

Valdimir Putin threatens nuclear action against the west AGAIN amid long range missile approvals

A brave Ukrainian soldier can be heard saying: "If I get into the trench line, I'll kill that machine gunner with my bare hands."

The rocket blitz came after tyrant Vladimir Putin vowed to "melt" Kyiv if Ukraine uses British missiles to strike Russia.

Putin's chief lapdog Dmitry Medvedev said permission for Ukraine to fire the rockets over enemy lines would spark a fierce response in its capital.

Referring to Kyiv he wrote in a Telegram post: "And that would be it. A giant, grey, melted spot instead of ‘the mother of Russian cities’."

He also ranted about how "Russia is showing patience" but that the West should not assume Putin would baulk at "crossing the line" or triggering an "apocalypse" with nuclear weapons.

Medvedev threatened to use hypersonic missiles to sink Britain if Zelensky's armies were granted the go-ahead with UK Storm Shadow missiles.

President Volodymyr Zelensky has been pleading for months for the UK and US to allow Ukraine to attack deep inside Russia using long-range missiles.

Ukraine is currently barred from firing UK-supplied Storm Shadow missiles at Russian supply lines due to fears of escalation.

But strong indications from the West suggest Kyiv could soon have the right to use the Brit missiles on targets deep inside Russia.

Earlier this week Sir Keir Starmer visited Washington DC for crunch talks with Joe Biden.

Mad Vlad Putin vowed World War Three if the West allowed British missiles to be fired on Russia by Ukraine.

But Sir Keir Starmer told The Sun the Kremlin tyrant “started it" after he received Iranian ballistic missiles that experts fear could soon be used against Ukraine.

After more than 900 days of war, Russia and Ukraine show no sign of letting up in the fight or moving closer to the negotiating table.

Recently, Ukraine began a large-scale push into Russian territory capturing a chunk of the Kursk region.

It marks the first-ever invasion on Russian soil since World War Two.

Russia has been desperately trying to regain the upper hand in Ukraine after Zelensky's forces pushed through into enemy territory on August 6.

They now claim to control over 500 square miles of Putin's territory in Russia’s worst defeat on home soil since World War Two.

Ukraine’s President Zelensky said the blitz was part of a master plan to help end the war.

It served a humiliating blow to Putin's efforts - as the so-called "special operation" he said would last just weeks in early 2022 approaches the three-year mark.

Raging Putin hit back with indiscriminate air attacks on Ukrainian cities as he licks his wounds from the crushing defeat.

Just days ago two Russian ballistic missiles were launched at a military academy and hospital inside Ukraine.

At least 51 people were killed and 271 were injured in what has been described as one of the deadliest attacks since the start of the war.

Russian Islander missiles scored a direct hit on a parade ground and canteen as electronic warfare trainees gathered in Poltava in northeastern Ukraine.

Dozens of military recruits scrambled for cover after being alerted by sirens but were blown up in the blast before they could reach for safety.

The attack was aimed at cadets from specialist military unit A3990 at the Institute of Communications but also damaged a nearby hospital.
