Vivek Ramaswamy's exit from DOGE triggered many speculations over what went wrong between him and Elon Musk or the MAGA world.
As Vivek Ramaswamy is out of the Department of Government Efficiency even before it officially started its work, his December rant against American culture is being blamed. A former classmate of Ramaswamy Pablo Torre, who often criticizes Vivek Ramaswamy on news outlets, told MSNBC's Morning Joe that Vivek Ramaswamy has become persona non grata in Trumpworld.
Torre, a sportswriter and a podcast host, whom Vivek Ramaswamy does not remember as a classmate, said Ramaswamy actually resents American culture deeply.
"Vivek's going back to Ohio, where he's from, to make the through line clear here, from Ohio to Ohio. It's funny, right, the thing that made him persona non grata in Trumpworld was what he tweeted over the holidays. He had this massive treatise on the H-1B visa and how we need to get immigrants from India and from China to compete, because American culture is essentially soft. We value, quote-unquote, the quarterback over the valedictorian, we praise the wrong characters on sitcoms. We didn't show enough respect to Urkel, literally a thing that he said, and what it revealed was, I think, a deep disdain for the base that Donald Trump had cultivated, and it revealed this fracturing for the first time in public," Torre said.
"Really, the fracturing between the Silicon Valley, part of this strange coalition and the nativist base, and Vivek clearly, clearly is somebody who will give on culture to get what he actually wants, much like all of these Silicon Valley guys," the Ramaswamy-critic said.
"But this take that he tweeted about was the thing he clearly felt most sincerely," Torre added. "He resents American culture in this way, he resents the base in this way, and for that crime, he is going to go run for governor in Ohio instead. He's going to be the first part of DOGE to be fired, this being the commission devoted to firing people."
What went wrong inside DOGE?
According to reports, everyone in the MAGA world including Elon Musk wanted Vivek Ramaswamy out after his rant against American culture on H-1B. He had not been doing any DOGE-related work since December, reports said though Vivek Ramaswamy's allies said his relationship with Elon Musk is good and Ramaswamy could not run for the governor post staying on DOGE.
