The longest government shutdown in US history is crippling the country's transportation sector. As airports experience severe staff shortages and air traffic controllers work unpaid, the transport Secretary Sean Duffy has ordered a 10% flight reduction at 40 major US airports, effective November 7, unless a deal to end the government shutdown is reached.
