Universal’s new multi-billion-pound resort has come under fire just days after opening. Orlando Resort’s new £ 4.5 billion Epic Universe Park has received a barrage of criticism from customers who all said the same thing—there’s no shade. With the Florida sunshine beaming down, many people have slammed the resort for the lack of shaded options from the scorching heat.
Attendees of the opening have taken to review sites online to complain of the “scalding” hot seats. Writing on Tripadvisor, one user said her visit was "extremely hot,” adding that Universal needs “some umbrellas to shade the seats.” Another critic, who is from the UK, fumed that he had waited for an hour and a half for both security to open and to get into Super Nintendo World in boiling heat.

"No shade, no fans, no misters. Fairly disgusting,” Jeff wrote. The Brit explained that the lack of shade extends to the rides too, with Yoshi’s Adventure being mainly outside. As a result, Jeff gave the ride a low three of 10.
Over on Reddit, a threat about Epic Universe Park highlights the same issues, with one person saying the expansive width of the pavements “does not help with the Florida sun and shading".
Other park-goers feel that the $139 (£103) entrance fee is not justified based on its few offerings.
Despite saying that Epic Universe is “great” overall, one user said that Celestial Park "felt boring and bland.” He compared the resort to a “city walk” rather than a theme park. This sentiment was echoed by other customers, who said there is a "concern that there isn't enough stuff to do".

Reviewers described the park as being "underbuilt", with not having “enough for a major park in this day and age”.
"I like it, but it's a bit empty in my opinion," another user wrote.
Despite the heavy criticism, many people thoroughly enjoyed their visit, with one user labelling it as “phenomenal”. Another park-lover said they have been twice already, despite only opening recently, and are planning a third trip.
