A Ukraine drone attack has forced Russia to slam shut eight airports due to safety fears. The dramatic counter from Volodymyr Zelensky's army saw at least 33 drones enter five different regions where they were torn from the sky, according to Vladimir Putin's defence ministry.
The overnight aerial fight back from Ukraine comes as US President Donald Trump proposes a peace to end Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
UKraine would receive "reliable security guarantees", according to the Trump-Putin pact.
However, the plan does not provide any details on what these guarantees might be.
The US was a signatory to the 1994 Budapest Memorandum that promised security assurances to Ukraine, in exchange for Kyiv handing over its nuclear weapons.
The current plans allows for European fighter jets to be stationed in neighbouring Poland

The peace deal envisions Ukraine being a NATO-free zone.
Not onely would Ukraine be barred from joining the military organisation, NATO troops would not be allowed to be stationed in the country at all, dashing Kyiv's hopes for a European peacekeeping force.
This, again, is another major concession to Putin.
Another stipulation of the 28-point peace plan would require Kyiv to reduce its army to 600,000 soldiers.
This would amount to a cut of hundreds of thousands compared to its current size.
Sanctions lifted
There would be a path to lifting sanctions on Russia and returning the country to the G8, which includes many of the world's biggest economies.
Russia to gain territory
Putin would also gain ground that he has been unable to win on the battlefield.
Under the draft, Moscow would hold all the eastern Donbas region, even though approximately 14% still remains in Ukrainian hands.
NATO BAN
Trump suggests banning Ukraine from joining NATO which but would also be unable to expand.
Such a step would be a significant victory for Moscow, which views Nato as a threat.
Ending the war
President Donald Trump's plan for ending the war in Ukraine would cede territory to Russia and limit the size of Kyiv's military, according to a draft proposal obtained on Thursday by The Associated Press.
Washington and Moscow worked together on the draft, which Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with a US representative on Thursday. If enacted, it would resolve a conflict that began nearly four years ago by requiring significant concessions from Kyiv and European leaders.
