UKRAINE has launched a devastating revenge attack on the Russian missile brigade that slaughtered 35 in Sumy on Palm Sunday.
Some 119 Ukrainian civilians were also wounded in the bloodbath - pushing Zelensky's forces to hit back hard.
Ukraine aimed a drone strike directly at the launch point of Russia's 448th missile brigade, triggering secondary explosions and a major inferno.
The Sumy strike was one of the most horrific of the conflict yet, leaving grieving families crying over the bodies of their loved ones in the street.
It has been branded a "war crime" for hitting civilians and killing two children with vicious cluster bombs with two Iskander-M missiles.
Kremlin TV coldly branded the civilians killed in Sumy “collateral damage”.
Sumy locals are burying their dead this week - many of whom perished when their bus what hit by one of the ballistic missiles.
The General Staff of Ukraine's Army confirmed the attack was an act of retribution.
Officials said the drones “attacked a number of objects in the Kursk region associated with war criminals involved in the missile attack on the city of Sumy on April 13, 2025, and other war crimes.
“In particular, the permanent deployment point of the 448th missile brigade of the Russian occupiers was hit, a secondary detonation of ammunition was recorded.
“The results of the strike are being clarified.”
Unconfirmed reports suggest that Russian soldiers were injured in the revenge strike.
A Russian source said there was a “massive approach of drones” but the Russian troops “managed to jump out, run away. There are wounded."
They added: “The blast wave cut the guys down, but thank God everyone is alive [...] everything burned down.”
