UK’s Burnham calls for more housing for illegal immigrants

Over 900 people have crossed the English Channel in small boats over the past three days, official figures show British Prime Minister Andy Burnham has called for immigrants to be housed more widely across the UK, as the country continues to grapple with large numbers of people crossing the English Channel.More than 3,000 illegal immigrants have reportedly reached the country by boat in the three weeks since Burnham replaced Keir Starmer as prime minister.The crossings increase the already existing pressure over asylum accommodation in Britain.
