Uber abruptly ended its operations in Nigeria on Wednesday after more than 12 years of building its presence in Africa’s most populous country and third-largest economy.
Drivers for the San Francisco-based multinational ride-hailing app said they learned of the decision in real time, with little warning. Some passengers told local media outlets they were en route via Uber when they received notice.
