Donald Trump has sent Vladimir Putin a brutal 4-word threat after the Russian President boasted about his new ‘unstoppable’ nuclear missile, branded the "Flying Chernobyl". On Sunday, the Kremlin tyrant announced a "successful" secret test flight on October 21 of the Burevestnik nuclear-powered cruise missile, said to have "unlimited range".

Putin made his announcement while visiting a war command post for a briefing on fighting in Ukraine. The Russian President was met by Russia’s top general, Valery Gerasimov, 70 and was dressed in military fatigues. Defying Donald Trump’s latest calls for peace, Putin also revealed details of nuclear war drills carried out by his forces over the past week.

The US President was less than amused when asked about Putin's boast while flying to Asia on board Air Force One.

Trump told reporters that it was "inappropriate" for the Russian leader to be making vain boasts about his nuclear weapons.

He told Putin "he ought to get the war ended" instead of wasting time testing his nukes.

Then the US President issued his own threat, reminding the Kremlin boss that America's navy has the "greatest" nuclear submarine "right off their shore".

"So I mean, it doesn’t have to go 8,000 miles, and they’re not playing games with us, we’re not playing games with them either,” Trump continued. “We test missiles all the time.”

During his meeting with Gerasimov, Putin was informed that the Burevestnik - aka Flying Chernobyl - was tested on last Tuesday.

The missile flew for 15 hours non-stop which is "not the limit", he told a smirking Putin, 73, who first announced plans for the Burevestnik seven years ago.

Tensions between the White House and the Kremlin have escalated since Trump imposed new sanctions on Russia's top two oil companies - Rosneft and Lukoil.

The sanctions could severely impact Putin's ability to fund his war in Ukraine and have infuriated the Kremlin.

Dmitry Medvedev - a close Putin ally - accused the Trump administration of declaring war on Russia in a furious response.
