President Trump Addresses The Nation On The Conflict In Iran

Donald Trump's ceasefire appears to be in the brink of collapse after Iran launched a series of "blatant" missile and drone attacks on Gulf neighbours. The US President had last night boasted there was no question the US had won a "total and complete victory" in the war against the Islamic Republic which America launched alongside Israel on February 28.

Trump and Washington had come under mounting pressure after Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz by threatening to attack shipping. The vital waterway usually carries around 20% of the world's oil and gas supplies.

Last night the Iranian Foreign Minister said the ceasefire was agreed if US attacks were "halted". But today (Wednesday) the two-week peace deal appears to be in trouble as the Gulf states of Kuwait, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates have all reported Iranian drone and missile attacks.

A statement from the United Arab Emirates Ministry of Defence said: "The Ministry of Defence announces that the blatant Iranian attacks since the ceasefire took effect have reached 17 ballistic missiles and 35 drones, and the air defenses have successfully dealt with them."

Elsewhere in the region the conflict between Israel and Iranian proxy terrorist forces in Lebanon intensified with more strikes from the Israel Defence Force killing at least 112 people, according to the Lebanese health ministry.

The latest count for Wednesday includes widespread strikes across central Beirut that came without warning, also wounding at least 837, one of the deadliest days in this latest war between Israel and the Hezbollah militant group.

More than 1,500 people have been killed in Lebanon during the past month, and over 1 million others have been displaced.

"May Allah protect Qatar, its Amir, its people, and the residents on its land."

Kuwait reports Iran fired 42 drones and 4 missiles in the 'past 24 hours'

Official Spokesman of the Ministry of Defense Colonel Saud Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi said: "The Armed Forces monitored and dealt with, during the past (24) hours, a number (4) of hostile ballistic missiles and a number (42) of hostile drones within Kuwaiti airspace, and they were handled in accordance with established procedures.

"The Iranian aggression has resulted in targeting a number of facilities affiliated with the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, in addition to targeting power stations and water desalination plants.

"The Armed Forces, along with various relevant authorities, affirm that they are following the situation minute by minute and working around the clock with high efficiency and responsibility to address any threats or field developments, continuing in the same high readiness and full preparedness they have maintained since the start of the aggression.

"We urge everyone to obtain information from authorised official sources and to avoid being swayed by rumors or circulating inaccurate information, due to its impact on public security and safety."

'US to work closely with Iran'

"There will be no enrichment of Uranium, and the United States will, working with Iran, dig up and remove all of the deeply buried (B-2 Bombers) Nuclear 'Dust'."
