A doctor has sounded the alarm over Donald Trump's health as speculation continues to grow surrounding the President's wellbeing.

In recent months, Trump, 79, has been pictured with a bruised hand on a number of occasions.

He has also admitted to undergoing a number of cognitive tests, as well as a CT scan - from which the results were normal, the White House announced.

The White House has also claimed Trump's bruised hand came as a result of shaking numerous people's hands.

However, Professor Bruce Davidson of Washington State University’s Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine has claimed that Mr Trump may have suffered from a stroke. There is no evidence to suggest Mr Trump has suffered a severe health episode.

Speaking to the Daily Beast, Professor Davidson said: "Earlier in the year, there was a video of him shuffling, and I thought that was weird.

"Then I saw him cradling his right hand in his left...he garbled words much more so a couple a months ago than he is doing now.

"Recently, there was a video of him walking down the stairs from Air Force One, holding the bannister with his left hand, even though he is right-handed."

Prof Davidson claimed that Trump's aspirin treatment is another potential sign of a more serious health issue.

However, the President said last month that he had been taking larger than recommended doses of aspirin for the last 25 years.

He told the Wall Street Journal: "They say aspirin is good for thinning out the blood, and I don't want thick blood pouring through my heart."
