after weeks of side-stepping questions on whether he believed Donald Trump lost the 2020 elections, said "Losing is not what he would use"
During a campaign event in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, when reporters asked Vance if Trump had lost to President Joe Biden four years ago. He responded, “On the election of 2020, I've answered this question directly a million times.

No! I think there are serious problems in 2020,” adding, “So, did Donald Trump lose the election in 2020? Not by the words that I would use.”

Despite multiple investigations finding no evidence of any widespread

voter fraud

, Trump and millions of his supporters still believe and falsely claim the

2020 election

was stolen.
Trump's attempts to overturn the election results have led to several indictments, and he awaits trial in multiple cases in different states. His refusal to accept the election outcome also led to the January 6, 2021 attack on the US Capitol by his supporters.

Vance made headlines during his debate with Kamala Harris' running mate Tim Walz on October 1 when he sidestepped this question and said that he was focused on “the future.”

In the Williamsport campaign, Vance clarified that he was not endorsing “some crazy conspiracy theory” but rather blamed the election results on online censorship by big tech companies.
