One of Donald Trump's former staunch allies has hit back at him for his bizarre comments on the death of Rob Reiner. Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene hit back at the US president on social media after he suggested Mr Reiner and his wife Michele's deaths were caused by "Trump derangement syndrome".
Ms Taylor Greene wrote on X: "Rob Reiner and his wife were tragically killed at the hands of their own son, who reportedly had drug addiction and other issues, and their remaining children are left in serious mourning and heartbreak. This is a family tragedy, not about politics or political enemies.

Rob Reiner and his wife were tragically killed at the hands of their own son, who reportedly had drug addiction and other issues, and their remaining children are left in serious mourning and heartbreak.
This is a family tragedy, not about politics or political enemies.
"Many families deal with a family member with drug addiction and mental health issues. It’s incredibly difficult and should be met with empathy especially when it ends in murder."
Mr Trump has been widely criticsed for his post on his social media platform Truth Social, which incoherently rambled about the Hollywood star's tragic death.
He made unfounded claims that Mr Reiner had an "obsession" with him, "with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights".
The director and actor was found stabbed to death in his home, alongside his wife, by his daughter Romy on Sunday.
Their son Nick, 32, has since been arrested on suspicion of murder, according to Los Angeles police chief Jim McDonnell.
Nick, who struggled with addiction, was taken into custody on Sunday night and his bail set at $4 million (£2.9 million), jail records show. The records accused him of "gang activity", but did not elaborate further on this.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call at Rob and Michele's house around 3.30pm local time on Sunday, and discovered a man, 78, and woman, 68, dead. They were later confirmed to be the couple.
The police department said detectives from the robbery homicide division were investigating their deaths as an "apparent homicide".
