One person has died after a boat capsized in the Atlantic Ocean 20 miles off St. Lucie Inlet. A number of others were airlifted to hospital to be examined further in hospital, responders added. The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for five people still missing, and was told by one of the people onboard that the vessel overturned on Friday, it has been reported.

Martin County Fire Rescue issued an update on X earlier this evening. The service said: "The US Coast Guard was on site of a capsized vessel, located 22 miles offshore, just before 10am. Five occupants were located, one of whom was deceased. Four were transported for further evaluation.
