Three people have been killed in a shooting in an Australian town. Police is urging residents to "stay indoors" as the alleged gunman is at large.
It happened in Lake Cargelligo, a town in New South Wales, Australia, today (Thursday, January 22) at 4.40pm (local time) where now a major police operation underway. A spokesperson for New South Wales Police said three people have died.
Emergency services were called to Walker Street, near Yelkin Street, Lake Cargelligo, following reports of a shooting. Three people – two women and a man – have died. Another man has been taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition, the spokesperson also said. Another man has been rushed to hospital in a serious but stable condition, police also said.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances of the incident has commenced. The public is urged to avoid the area and residents are being asked to stay inside.
