Shocking doorbell camera footage shows the moments gunmen opened fire above the heads of terrified young people during a wild shootout that left three dead on a residential street in Philadelphia. The incident, which happened early on Monday morning, saw 10 others injured.
Bystanders took cover behind a short porch wall, with some falling on top of each other, as pistols glowed amber and bullets were fired down the street in the Grays Ferry section of the city. Others in the background of the doorbell footage were seen running for their lives, with some diving behind vehicles to avoid the flying bullets. One woman screamed and kicked her leg in terror as the bullets flew by just above her head.
“There’s a lot of video circulating online, it’s pretty much a horrific scene,” Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel said.
Police are now using the Ring camera footage as evidence in their investigation. The shootout began just before 1am on the 1500 block of South Etting Street, officers told local outlet 6ABC Action News. The cops were already in the area after a call was made complaining about noise and large crowds before the gunfire broke, the police said.

Officers raced to the scene and found 12 shooting victims aged between 15 to 24, and a thirteenth victim who was trying to escape the violence. The three dead victims have not yet been identified, but police said they were aged 19, 23 and 24, according to 6ABC Action News.
“This is coward stuff. You see the size of this block — individuals just shooting randomly into houses, into cars,” Bethel said.
He added: “I mean, this is coward, wannabe thug stuff. But as we do in all of our investigations, we will get to the root cause, and we will bring those individuals to justice.”
At least one person with a weapon was taken into custody, 6ABC Action News said.
