THIS is the revolting moment a food delivery driver appears to urinate in an apartment lift - while holding a customer's meal in his unwashed hands.

Horrified residents at the Australian apartment were left "disgusted" after CCTV footage seemingly showed the man committing the vile act.

Stomach-churning footage shows the man enter an apartment lift in Artarmon, in Syndey's North Shore, on March 10.

The perpetrator carries a bag of Betty's Burgers, as he turns and faces away from the camera.

He holds the bag of food in one hand, while he appears to use his other hand to carry out the sick act.

After he leaves the elevator, a wet patch can be seen covering a corner of the lift where it appears he urinated in.

Resident of the same building Geoffrey Grasso said he believes the dirty driver even swapped hands as he exited the elevator - passing the grub into his unwashed paws.

He told 2GB, who obtained the footage: “It’s just revolting.

“I don’t know what goes through somebody’s mind to think that that in any way, shape size or form, acceptable.”

He added that “all the evidence that we have” suggests the driver worked for delivery giant Uber Eats.

The outraged man also continued: “It raises a whole bunch of questions about their food handling training of their drivers at the very, very least.

"But the one thing that literally disgusts me is the fact that he is holding those people’s food while he is urinating and then delivers it to them.”

Grasso said that despite the apparent urine being cleaned already, the elevator “still smells” and will require thousands of dollars of repairs.

He said that the manager of the building estimates the price of changing the carpet to be "no less than $2,000".

The resident added: “It’s just a disgusting thing to do, it breaches any form of normal etiquette and health standards.

"I’m sure if he was that desperate and said to the resident in question ‘may I use your toilet’, I’m sure they would have said yes.”

A spokesperson for Uber Eats said: “We strongly condemn this kind of behaviour, which has no place on the Uber platform.

“We are currently investigating and will be taking necessary action.

"Our community guidelines clearly set out the rules that we expect all users including delivery people to follow, and breach of these guidelines can result in loss of access to the Uber app.”

Local police confirmed they have launched an investigation into the incident.

Last September, residents in a Scottish apartment were left disgusted when not one, but two delivery drivers were caught urinating on the flat close.

The JustEat and Deliveroo drivers peed all over the apartment floor, just moments before handing food over to unknowing customers.
