Two people are battling critically injuries after separate shark attacks in Sydney, Australia. A 12-year-old boy was attacked and is fighting for his life in the third incident in two days. Reports say the boy had been jumping off rocks with friends on Sunday afternoon, when he was bitten. The boy was pulled from the water by friends and emergency services with severe injuries to both legs. The incident took place on Shark Beach in Vaucluse.
The New South Wales police marine area command superintendent Joe McNulty said a police speedboat was nearby and reached the scene within minutes. An officer applied two tourniquets to the boy’s legs to stem severe bleeding while other officers performed CPR as he was taken by boat to Rose Bay, where ambulance crews were waiting.

On Monday, two more incidents were also reported. A spokesperson for a local ambulance service said a surfer was critically injured off North Steyne Beach in Manly.
