A mass murderer serving life behind bars has been throwing tantrums about the fruit he has been given. Bryan Kohberger, who killed four University of Idaho students, has reportedly filed complaints about the types of bananas he’s received.

The quadruple killer pleaded guilty to killing Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Ethan Chapin and Xana Kernodle in their off-campus home. While he’s never offered a full confession, prosecutors believe he entered through a sliding glass door at 4am on November 13, 2022. He is serving four consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole, after narrowly avoiding the death penalty through a plea deal weeks before the trial was supposed to start earlier this year.

Chris McDonough, retired homicide detective who works for the Cold Case Foundation, told the Daily Mail that the mass killer has been complaining about the type of bananas he’s been given.

He said: “I’m not sure if that means they have bruises on them and he doesn’t like that or if there’s a particular type of banana he likes. You just can’t make this stuff up, right, the guy is a quadruple killer complaining about his bananas not being the type he likes.”

Kohberger has also complained about his fellow inmates, who he claims were shouting through the vents into his cell and disrupting his sleep. His complaint alleged he was receiving “minute by minute verbal threats" from other prisoners. In one complaint he wrote: “Unit 2 of J Block is an environment I wish to transfer from.” While another claimed he had been a victim of sexual threats.

In total, the convicted murderer filed at least five complaints within one month of being in prison. The killer is living in the Idaho Maximum Security Institution in Kunda, Idaho, which confines the state’s most violent and dangerous offenders.

Kohberger was arrested six weeks after the murders at his parents' home in Pennsylvania. Detectives found his DNA on a knife sheath left at the scene, and a neighbour’s balcony security camera caught his car circling the students’ home.

Surviving roommate Dylan Mortensen watched him leave the residence at 4am and was able to give his description to the police.
