A married school dinner lady has confessed to having an affair with a student she served meals to. Nicole Wigginton, 41, admitted that she had engaged in sexual acts with a male pupil at Lauderdale County School in Rogersville, Alabama, on at least two occasions.
Mother-of-two Wiggington was arrested last week and charged with being a school employee and engaging in a sex act. She has since traded the school canteen for a prison cell, currently detained in Lauderdale County Jail.
Her bail is set at £77,000, Daily Star reports.
While the age of the student involved remains undisclosed, it's likely he is over 16 given that the cafeteria worker hasn't been charged with child abuse. In a statement, the school board said: "The Lauderdale County Board of Education is aware of the allegations, and the employee has been placed on administrative leave We will continue to cooperate with law enforcement officials, and have no further comment on this matter."
Wigginton isn't the only school staff member making headlines in the US. A 30 year old special education teacher was arrested last month, accused of raping one of her 15 year old students.

Christina Formella, 30, allegedly sent the boy explicit texts, such as "I love you sooooo much baby... Even though this morning was short, it was perfect," and bragged about getting intimate on school property.
The student, whose identity has not been disclosed, is thought to have received personal tutoring from Formella, in addition to football coaching. The boy's mother uncovered Formella's actions while setting up a phone for her son and promptly reported the matter to the police.
Formella was arrested in the presence of her husband. Upon realising she had been caught, the teacher broke down in tears and complained that she was "gonna throw up", prompting the police to provide her with a sick bag.
