An F-16 fighter jet has reportedly crashed near Trona in San Bernardino County, California.

San Bernardino County Fire said: "TRONA: #SBCoFD resources from Station 57 responding to a reported aircraft emergency with @NAWS_CL and @ChinaLake_EM near the San Bernardino/Inyo County line area."

Unconfirmed social media accounts suggest an F-16 fighter jet crashed "onto a dry lake bed near Trona", with locals reporting hearing a "really loud boom".
