Vladimir Putin's propagandists have stepped up their attacks on Donald Trump, as tensions between the White House and Kremlin show no sign of abating. The Kremlin boss is still smarting from the US President's public criticisms of his refusal to engage seriously in peace negotiations on Ukraine.

The White House incumbent told reporters over the weekend that the Russian leader talks "a lot of bulls***", as he vented his frustrations over stalled negotiations In an attempt to crank up the pressure on Putin, Trump agreed to a new military aid package for Ukraine, that will deliver much needed weapons to Kyiv's beleaguered forces. The Kremlin has reacted furiously to Trump's policy volte-face, and launched a brutal onslaught against the Republican boss.

Not content with questioning his mental health, Putin's apparatchiks have now taken to attacking the US President's marriage. Their anger has been stirred by Trump claiming Melania has helped point out to him Putin's duplicity.

“My conversations with him [Putin] are always very pleasant. I say, isn’t that a very lovely conversation? And then the missiles go off that night,” Trump said. “I go home, I tell the first lady: I spoke with Vladimir today. We had a wonderful conversation. She said: Really? Another city was just hit.”

During a current affairs programme on the state TV channel Russia 1, Malek Dudakov suggested that the US President"s marriage was in trouble. "In my opinion Trump has certain marital problems," he said. "Melania spends most of her time not at the White House, but in New York, along with her son, who recently enrolled in a University. She doesn't even live with Trump."

In an attempt to discredit Melania, the programme showed some racy photos of her taken from her past. The First Lady had posed for GQ magazine in 2000, when she was dating the then real-estate mogul.

Melania featured in a naked profile shoot for the men's magazine on Trump's customised Boeing 727, wearing handcuffs, wielding diamonds and holding a chrome pistol.

Dudakov could not resist sticking the knife in further, as he pointed out that Trump's popularity in the US was nose-diving.

"Trump's ratings have certainly fallen," he smirked. "The latest YouGov polls show only 40%. He has to somehow climb out of this hole. We will see whether or not Donald Trump's able to do it."
