Vladimir Putin's media mouthpiece has demanded Russia should "write off" Poland if the US arms Ukraine with Tomahawk missiles. In his latest unhinged rant, Vladimir Solovyov told his TV audience that Russia should send arms to Venezuela, Iran and North Korea so those countries could target the United States in retaliation.
During his lunatic lecture, the host looked completely rattled at the possibility Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky may strike deep inside Russia if Ukraine were to purchase Tomahawk cruise missiles from the US. Mr Zelensky asked US President Donald Trump for Tomahawk missiles during a private meeting in New York two weeks ago.
Ukraine's leader has said Mr Trump didn't dismiss the request. The US leader said on Monday (October 6) that he had "sort of made a decision" but wanted to avoid an escalation of the Russia-Ukraine war.
Solovyov said it would be "just wonderful" for the US to give Ukraine Tomahawks which the Pentagon would aim for them. He added: "We should give everything to Venezuela, North Korea and Iran, including the Oreshnik (missile)."
The firebrand host said Russia should also take out all places from which missiles would be fired at his country. He said the parts of Poland where Ukrainian forces are being trained and weapons manufactured and stored should "burn and explode". The same should apply to NATO countries he accused of plotting against Russia.
In fiery remarks translated by Russian Media Monitor, Solovyov claimed Europe would fail to ensure that the laws of war would be adhered to if Kyiv received Tomahawks and Russia's fate would be the same as Germany's in World War 2, when the Allies destroyed swathes of territory. He failed to mention the Blitz or Nazi Germany's relentless bombing and occupation of countries Hitler's fascist regime conquered across Europe.
He also failed to mention Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014 and its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 broke international law as neither can be justified as an act of self-defence.
Solovyov said: "[The Europeans] will enjoy it if a strike on a working Russian nuclear power plant causes such a nuclear contamination that half of Russia will vanish off the face of the earth. They will applaud it and say, 'Finally, this is great'."
He said Russians should take the threat of Tomahawks being deployed against their country seriously, but added Russia could "destroy all of Ukraine" and Europeans wouldn't care.
The Kremlin's media mouthpiece said: "For them it doesn't matter... Ukraine is being written off... Love for the Ukrainian people is clear to see in Europe. They hate them."
Putin's puppet presenter then raged that in war the victors have to be "ferocious", shouting: "The ferocious ones! The ones who break the will to resist!"
Solovyov said Russia would destroy Ukraine to the point where there would be no life left in Kharkiv, Poltava, Mykolaiv or Odesa.
He said none of those cities would exist and neither would Ukraine's capital, Kyiv, unless the Ukrainian people recognise their country is being run by Nazis and overthrow their government.
His nonsensical ramblings echoed one of Putin's frequent attempts to justify Russia's war on Ukraine. The Russian dictator has repeatedly lied in a baseless claim that Ukraine is run by a "neo-Nazi regime".
Solovyov's claim Europe wouldn't care if Russia destroyed all of Ukraine is another obvious lie given the billions in military aid the EU has given the country and Brussels' agreement for Ukraine to be granted candidate status for accession to the bloc.
EU leaders agreed to open accession negotiations with Ukraine in December 2023 and reconfirmed their commitment to maintain "strong" support for the country.
