Iris Hsieh’s cause of death was initially ruled as a heart attack but has since been reclassified as murder.
The glamorous nurse-turned-model was found in the bathtub of a hotel room in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 22 by her pal Namewee, whose real name is Wee Meng Chee.
From behind bars, Namewee has dropped a new song titled “Very Shaui” which translates to “Very Handsome.”
The track, which was released on Wednesday 5, is an old demo recorded back in 2014.
The song dropped on Spotify and coincided with the day the rapper surrendered himself to authorities, according to China Press.
It’s believed the track was scheduled for release in advance, rather than it being a tactical PR move.
Dang Wangi police chief, ACP Sazalee Adam, previously confirmed Namewee was linked to the model’s death.
The murder suspect claimed he found Iris,31, unresponsive and attempted CPR but was ultimately forced to call an ambulance at about 12:30pm.
The pair were set to meet to discuss an upcoming music shoot but he alerted authorities when he discovered she had tragically died.
After finding Iris, Namewee was separately arrested for drug possession and tested positive for amphetamines, methamphetamine, ketamine, and THC.
The producer denied taking any drugs in a statement on Instagram, and branded the claims “baseless”
Before the rapper was jailed, Chris, the Taiwanese influencer’s manager, accused Namewee of concealing the truth about her death.
He demanded to know whether the rapper “induced, deceived, or forced” Iris to take any substances.
Iris’s pals have ferociously denied rumours she was an escort and frequently took drugs at a specific establishment.
Chris also claimed he never witnessed Iris partaking in drug use.
In a statement he previously spoke directly to the music producer: “You will give a clear account to these questions- there will be no room to evade.
“What are you hiding? How much more truth have you left unsaid?”
The 42-year-old confessed he would fully cooperate with the investigation into Iris’s murder but denies any wrongdoing.
Officers are waiting for a full post-mortem and toxicology report before they release the official cause of her death.
The Sun previously reported Iris’ parents were shocked her death was ruled as a heart attack; she lived a very healthy and active lifestyle- they couldn’t believe she had died.
Iris was a social media star, a trained caregiver from Taichung, Taiwan with over 500,000 followers and was nicknamed the “Nurse Goddess.”
She was also active on adult subscription platforms and it was reported she had relationships with wealthy businessmen.
Namewee made a name for himself with a string of controversial tunes; he was arrested in 2016 over his music video, Oh My God, following complaints it was disrespectful to Islam.
He also released tracks poking fun at Chinese nationalists and was even banned from entering China.
