Paris Saint-Germain and Inter Milan face off in the Champions League final at the Allianz Arena this evening, in the first showdown between French and Italian clubs since Marseille triumphed over AC Milan in the same German city more than three decades ago.

But standing in their way are Simone Inzaghi’s experienced, wily nerazzurri, who outlasted tournament favourites Barcelona in an epic semi-final – and will be keen to avenge their 2023 final defeat at the hands of Manchester City.

Should his team prevail, Luis Enrique would join a select group of two-club Champions League winners.
