Piers Morgan, who was recently hospitalised following a fall, has taken to X to take aim at US President Donald Trump. Morgan, 60, claimed the world leader had called him and invited him to a "golf battle". The longtime journalist, who tagged Trump in the post, wrote: "Thanks for the call, President @realDonaldTrump - appreciated the advice re future step fall avoidance, and the invite to do golf battle as soon as the new hip beds in." At the end of the post, he brutally said: (But no, you’re not taking my $$$)." It comes after Morgan announced he'd fractured his femur after tripping on a "small step" at a restaurant in London in January.

In his initial tweet about the incident, Morgan shared a selfie from his hospital bed and said he "blamed Trump" for the fall.
The injury means Morgan is facing up to three months of restricted movement, with medical professionals advising him against long-haul travel during his recovery from surgery.
Trump doesn't appear to have responded to Morgan's latest tweet, which was posted earlier today (Thursday, January 5), but it has attracted a lot of attention on the social media site.
One person penned: "That’s one way to flex a recovery plan. Hip rehab, fall-prevention tips, and a golf challenge all in one call, politics aside, that’s peak Trump energy. Hope the rematch comes with scorecards and witnesses."
A second added: "Haha, glad to hear that! Wishing you a speedy recovery. The golf battle will be fun to watch." Another shared: "Thanks for letting all know you talked to him. Who cares?"

Trump and Morgan met in the 2000s and appeared in the US version of The Apprentice, where the former Mirror editor won in 2008. Morgan later interviewed Trump about his political career during his time as a broadcaster.
