Peruvian shamans have issued their forecasts for 2026 - including an ominous health warning for US President Donald Trump and predictions of progress in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Speculation about Trump's health has intensified over the past year. The President was compelled to explain his "raspy voice" recently, whilst claims have also emerged suggesting he may be experiencing cognitive decline.

Despite ongoing conjecture about the President's physical and mental condition, the White House maintains he remains in robust health. Earlier this year, White House physician Dr Sean Barbadella declared the divisive leader was in excellent cognitive and physical condition.

Should their prophecies prove accurate, 2026 could prove challenging for the American leader. Shaman Juan de Dios García, dressed in a blue poncho, black hat and red and black necklace, declared: "The United States must get ready because Donald Trump is going to fall seriously ill," reports the Daily Mirror.

At 79, Trump became the oldest individual to take office when first elected in 2016. He will be nearing 83 when his second term concludes in January 2029.

The former reality television personality turned politician has faced persistent speculation regarding his health throughout his second term, which commenced nearly a year ago. Last month, concerns were raised about his health after a "raspy voice" was noticed at a conference.

During a meeting in the Oval Office discussing the USA's preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Trump's voice sounded hoarse as he spoke with officials and journalists.

One attendee asked: "Your voice sounds rough, are you feeling alright?" To which Trump replied: "I was shouting at people because they were stupid about something having to do with trade in a country."

Misunderstanding a reporter's comment as a medical diagnosis, Trump quipped: "What? I thought said there was a polyp - I don't want to hear that."

Despite the grim prognosis for Trump, there was a more optimistic outlook regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which erupted in February 2022.

Shaman Garcia predicted: "I see that the conflict will end, and they will raise the flag of peace."

This comes shortly after Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Trump in Florida. The meeting led Trump to assert that a resolution to the war is "closer than ever", although he conceded that "thorny" issues concerning the future of the Donbas region remain unresolved.

The shamans also foresaw the downfall of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro's regime.
