The revived initiative gives around 180 children a chance to pursue their broadcasting dreams despite the ongoing conflict In war-battered southern Gaza, a revived children’s media initiative is helping young Palestinians learn broadcasting skills, continue their education and pursue dreams beyond the conflict, local freelance journalist Rami Al Meghari reported for RT on Saturday.Established in 2006, Pioneers of Palestine resumed operations earlier this year. The initiative now offers around 180 boys and girls aged eight to 18 television production training and other subjects in a basement studio in Khan Younis, southern Gaza.“My ambition is to become a director,” one student told RT. The studio’s equipment could allow audiences worldwide to see that “Palestinian children have lives and aspirations similar to those of children elsewhere,” she said. According to the organizers, the project was kickstarted by funding from the Sheffield UK Fund around five months ago, which allowed it to secure cameras and other equipment.
