An NRI couple living in the US is reportedly set to come back to India due to being victims of job loss; recently, there have been layoffs by Oracle Corporation. This move has highlighted the issue of visa restrictions and employment flexibility challenges faced by foreigners working in the US tech industry.
As reported through a Reddit post by the wife, her husband was laid off from his position at Oracle in such a way that there will be a 60-day grace period from 11 April 2026. She herself has been laid off as far back as October 2025, with her having not found work ever since. Due to their lack of sponsorship through PERM or I-140, the only option left for the couple was to go back to India in July 2026.
