It's that time of year when people are busy searching for somewhere with an enchanting Christmas market to visit, and if you're hunting for somewhere fresh this festive season, then you may want to pay attention.

A content creator pair, who specialise in travel and lifestyle, have unveiled a destination which boasts one of the 'finest Christmas markets in Italy' – and you've likely never even heard of it before.

Trento's Christmas market occurs in the city of Trento, situated in the Trentino region of Northern Italy.

The market, which was initially founded in 1993, showcases countless wooden chalets and vendors alongside two principal squares: Piazza Fiera and Piazza Mostra within the historic centre.

Discussing the European market, couple Francesca and Tommaso, better known as @takemyhearteverywhere on TikTok, informed their 153,000 followers: "You've probably never heard of Trento's Christmas markets - but they're among the most magical in Italy."

Alongside their recommendations, they posted a video montage showcasing the market's highlights, such as cream-topped hot chocolates, charming stalls, delectable food, Santa Claus, a Ferris wheel and a train ride.

Their travel advice was well-received, with the post garnering over 19,000 likes.

One follower exclaimed: "Oh wow," after viewing the video, while another commented that it seemed 'straight out of a Christmas film'.

A third added: "Wow, this looks like a Christmas wonderland."

A fourth concurred: "This looks so magical!"

How can you get there?

Those planning a visit to Trento can fly into a nearby airport such as Verona Villafranca Airport (VRN), with the flight duration from London being approximately two hours and costing as little as £40 for a return ticket.

From Verona airport, a train journey to Trento takes around 1 hour 20 minutes, and the market is just a short 5/10 minute walk from the station.

Alternatively, train and coach journeys are available, but these can take considerably longer, ranging from 13-29 hours each way.
