EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW — The National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA) is a unique part of the Intelligence Community (IC), tasked with providing geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) — analysis of imagery, signals and signatures that geolocate individuals, objects and activities – to support everything from U.S. combat operations, national security, law enforcement, and even natural disaster recovery.

It’s also a relatively young agency – founded less than three decades ago. Vice Admiral Frank Whitworth, who has led the NGA since June 2022,  describes the agency as the “Vanguard of Distinction,” referring to the importance of accuracy in all the areas in which it operates.
