Nexus Data Centers will use the capital to develop a data center campus in Hubbard, Texas, according to a source familiar with the discussions who asked not to be named because the details are confidential. As part of the deal, Google agreed to backstop Anthropic with its investment-grade credit rating, the person said. The Wall Street Journal was first to report the deal. Anthropic has been engaging with a variety of infrastructure partners this year, inking a flurry of deals in an effort to increase its computing capacity. The company struck an agreement with Advanced Micro Devices earlier this month, Elon Musk's SpaceX in May and Google and Broadcom, in April.
