Three people were killed and eight others wounded in a shooting in New York City as the police continue to search for the suspect. The incident happened in Brooklyn just before 3.30am local time today. Emergency services rushed to the Taste of the City Lounge restaurant in the Crown Heights area after multiple reports of gunfire. The victims were found shortly after at 903 Franklin Ave who were injured with gunshot wounds, The Sun reports.
The victims were immediately taken to local hospitals, police confirmed, yet their conditions remain unknown. The New York Police Department confirmed that no arrests have been made yet, and the investigation is ongoing. The local authority is also urging residents to avoid the area while investigations take place.

Witnesses wrote on social media that a police cordon had been put in place and "crime tape stretched for blocks". Footage on social media also shows NYPD personnel standing inside the restaurant near a pool of blood and broken glass.
The city's emergency management office has issued an alert warning of traffic delays, road closures, mass transit disruptions, and a heavy emergency personnel presence near Franklin Avenue and President Street.
This comes after another mass shooting in Times Square, New York last week. Three people were injured after a teenager opened fire in the busy tourist area, with footage showing people running to flee the scene.
The New York Police Department told The Sun that the gunfire took place at 1:20am local time after a "verbal dispute between two people escalated".
A 65-year-old man and a 19-year-old man were shot, and an 18-year-old woman was taken to hospital with a wound to her neck.
