Muhammad Ali’s 1915 Los Angeles mansion was bought for $2.5 million in 2001

The former Los Angeles home of three-time world heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali, a 1915 Italian Renaissance mansion in the gated Fremont Place community, sold for $8.5 million (£6.7 million) in July 2024. The sale ended a long period on the market for the historic property. Architect John C. Austin, who also designed Los Angeles City Hall and the Griffith Observatory, designed the home, which was built in 1915. Ali lived in the mansion during the late 1970s and 1980s with his third wife, Veronica, and their daughters, Laila and Hana. During his time there, the house welcomed many well-known guests, including world leaders, entertainers and sports stars. The estate has nine bedrooms and seven bathrooms in the main house.
